Meteorite Vaca Muerta (eucrite inclusion)

The Vaca Muerta meteorite is a mesosiderite (A1), meaning a stony-iron meteorite. Here, however, a eucritic inclusion is presented, containing mineral assemblages similar to those of eucrites, notably pyroxene and plagioclase.

This thin section is owned by Szymon Kozłowski and was scanned on January 21, 2026, using a Keyence VHX-7000 polarizing microscope in both plane- and cross-polarized modes at the Department of Geochemistry, Mineralogy and Petrology, University of Warsaw, Poland.
