Allende Meteorite

The Allende meteorite was an observed fall in February 1969 in Mexico. Numerous stones were recovered, with a total weight of about two tons. It is classified as a carbonaceous chondrite, type CV3, shock stage S2-S3 (Nakamura et al. 1995), weathering level W0.

This thin section is owned by Szymon Kozłowski and was scanned on September 22, 2025, using a Keyence VHX-7000 polarizing microscope in both plane- and cross-polarized modes at the Department of Geochemistry, Mineralogy and Petrology, University of Warsaw, Poland.
